Zusammenfassung
Gemäß der Zielsetzung der englischen Ditchley Foundation soll u. a. „... Männern und Frauen aus den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika und Großbritannien — und auch anderen Ländern, wo dies angemessen ist — die augenblicklich oder in der Zukunft eine einflußreiche Rolle spielen bzw. spielen könnten, die Möglichkeit gegeben werden, in einer ruhigen Umgebung zusammenzutreffen, um über gemeinsame Probleme zu diskutieren. Durch solche Treffen werden die Kenntnis und das Verständnis der Teilnehmer und derjenigen, an die diese ihrerseits ihre Gedanken und Erfahrungen weitergeben, erweitert, und sie werden besser imstande sein, mit den Problemen, denen sie gegenübergestellt sind, fertigzuwerden“.
