Abstract
Numerical solutions to the test problems of laminar flow over a backward-facing step are presented. A variety of approaches have been used including: (1) a Galerkin finite element method. (2) finite difference methods using hybrid, central, and higher-order upwind discretisations on rectangular meshes: and (3) a finite difference method on a non-rectangular grid. Some comparisons hetsveen serial and vector computers are included.
