Abstract
The results presented in this paper have been obtained by use of the finite element method applied to the solution of the incompressible Nader Stokes equations. The unknowns are the stream function ψ and the vorticity ω, leading to the mixed method proposed by Ciarlet and Raviart [1]. A theoretical study of this approach is presented in the book of Girault and Raviart [2].
