Manual on Induction Motors Used as Generators

Abstract

The induction or asynchronous machine is the most commonly used AC machine. Like any electrical machine, it can be used both as a motor or a generator. The name induction machine relates to the fact that the stator winding creates a rotating magnetic field which induces alternating current into the short-circuited rotor winding.
