Summary

Tilt changes preceeding earthquakes and the prospects for a possible use of earth tide measurements for earthquake prediction are shortly reviewed.

Encouraging results obtained so far convince us that earth tide measurements should be included into an extensive earthquake prediction program in the North Anatolian fault zone.
