Abstract

Although the Venezuelanhealth service extends even to remote areas and all young physicians who graduate from local universities have tospendat leastone yearinarural dispensary, folk-curingriteshavepersistedoverthe centuries. It is important for moderndoctors, who work among peasants, to get acquainted with folk-practices and to learn more about the attitudes of their patients towards diseases, in order to be successful.
