Abstract
India has a long and rich heritage in medicine and medical practice. Nearly 80% of the population resort to traditional medicine for medical relief. Ayurveda has served the inhabitants of India through centuries of their existence. There are variations in medical practices in different regions of the country due to its cultural and geographical diversity. In Kerala, a state in South India, the practice of this art has attained particular proficiency.
