Abstract
The origins of lattice theory go back to G. BOOLE [1847]. In honor of his achievements the term “boolean algebra” was coined. Boolean algebras are complemented distributive lattices; they form the best known class of lattices. There are many monographs on boolean algebras and their applications, e. g. SIKORSKI [1964], WHITESITT [1964] and VLADIMIROV [1978].
