Zusammenfassung

Zu den stabilsten Befunde der kognitiven Psychologie gehören die außergewöhnlichen Gedächtnisleistungen von Experten für Informationen, die aus ihrem Expertisebereich stammen, selbst wenn diese Informationen nur für sehr kurze Zeit, beispielsweise für ein paar Sekunden, dargeboten werden. Dies ist zwar eine triviale Feststellung, wenn es bei der zu trainierenden Fähigkeit um das Gedächtnis selbst geht, wie etwa bei der Anwendung von Mnemotechniken. Doch selbst dann, wenn beim Expertiseerwerb keine Verbesserung des Kurzzeitgedächtnisses angestrebt wird, wie beispielsweise beim Spielen von Regelspielen oder beim Computerprogrammieren, sind solche außergewöhnlichen Gedächtnisleistungen zu beobachten.
