Zusammenfassung
In den letzten zehn Jahren hat Zygmunt Bauman eine Reihe von Büchern veröffentlicht, die den postmodernen Wandel in Gesellschaft, Theorie, Kultur Ethik und Politik skizzieren. Die Veränderungen in der gegenwärtigen Gesellschaft und Kultur, so Bauman, benötigen neue Modelle des Denkens, der Moral und der Politk, um angemessen auf die neuen sozialen Bedingungen antworten zu können. Dies erfordert eine Neuformierung der kritischen Sozialtheorie und neue Pflichten und Aufgaben für eine postmoderne Soziologie. Bauman ist deshalb eine fundamentale Herausforderung für die gegenwärtige Sozialtheorie und stellt eine originelle und provokative postmoderne Version soziologischer Imagination bereit, indem er Umrisse des fundamentalen sozialen und kulturellen Wandeins unserer Zeit entfaltet und Wege entwickelt, auf die Theoriebildung und Politik ausgerichtet werden müssen, um diese Fragen kreativ abbilden und demokratisch zu beantworten.
