Abstract
It is necessary to incorporate an overview of the Greek economy and labour market situation in this report. This will allow for an understanding of the rudimentary character of both political and scientific initiatives on the issue of unemployment in general and youth unemployment specifically. This information is also important in order to understand how the social and public institutions can influence the state of health of young people (age group 16–29) in Greece.
