Zusammenfassung

Das heutige Ungarn ist für sein relativ „kompliziertes“ Wahlsystem bekannt. Dies ist das Ergebnis eher negativer wahlpolitischer Traditionen Ungarns im 20. Jahrhundert und des daraus resultierenden besonderen Bemühens der Gesetzgeber, diesmal ein dem internationalen Trend entsprechendes, modernes, repräsentatives, aber auch effektives Wahlgesetz zu schaffen. Weitere Traditionen, die man bei der Konzipierung des neuen Wahlsystems nicht ignorieren konnte, stammen eher aus der Zeit des Staatssozialismus als aus früheren Etappen der ungarischen Geschichte.

Es sei dankbar vermerkt, daß diese Studie mit der Unterstützung der Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung zustande gekommen ist.
