Zusammenfassung
Nach gängigem internationalem Verständnis sollen sich sozialorientierte Erneuerungsstrategien auf problembehaftete Stadtviertel konzentrieren, also gebietsbezogen sein (area based). Sie sollen weiterhin verschiedene Ressourcen und Ressorts integrieren (integrated)und neue Steuerungsmodelle etablieren (innovative). Dieses Verständnis liegt weltweit den neueren Ansätzen um sozialen Ausgleich in sozialen Revitalisierungsstrategien zu Grunde (vgl. u.a. UNCHS 2001; Weltbank 2000; Moulaert 2000).
