Zusammenfassung

In den letzten zwanzig Jahren lässt sich bei der sozialwissenschaftlichen Theorie des Verhaltens von Jugendlichen eine Reihe bemerkenswerter Wortschöpfungen feststellen. Betrachtet man die Auswahl von Themen in einschlägigen Handbüchern über Jugendliche oder auch nur das Inhaltsverzeichnis des vorliegenden Bandes, so findet man nach wie vor Artikel über Kriminalität, Gewalt, Drogen-, Alkohol- und Tabakkonsum, Essstörungen, HIV-Infektion, Suizid, Schuleschwänzen, Schulversagen und Unfälle. Was früher allerdings unter dem Thema des abweichenden Verhaltens analysiert wurde, wird heute vielfach als „problem behavior“, „risk behavior“, oder „anti-social behavior“ bezeichnet.
