Zusammenfassung
Die ursprüngliche Heavisidesche Idee des formalen Rechnens mit einem Differentiationsoperator \(p = {\text{ }}\frac{d}{{dt}}\) wie mit einem algebraischen Symbol wurde in Abschnitt 2. mittels der Laplace-Transformation mathematisch fundiert. Dabei wurden Teilgebiete der Analysis (insbesondere Integralrechnung und Funktionentheorie) herangezogen, aber auch wesentlich mehr erreicht: Deutung von p als komplexe Veränderliche, asymptotische Beziehungen u.a.
