Zusammenfassung
Investitionsgütermarketing gilt als eine Spezialdisziplin des Marketings. Es unterscheidet sich vom Konsumgütermarketing dadurch, daß als Nachfrager nicht Letztkonsumenten, sondern Organisationen betrachtet werden (vgl. Engelhardt/Günter 1981, S. 24). Das Investitionsgütermarketing hat unter der Bezeichnung „Industrial Marketing“ seine Wurzeln in der US-amerikanischen Marketingforschung. Aber im Gegensatz zum Konsumgütermarketing haben sich bereits relativ früh eigenständige Forschungsströmungen außerhalb der USA entwickelt. Es ist das Ziel dieses Beitrags aufzuzeigen, daß sich drei strukturell in ihren Ursprüngen unterschiedliche Forschungsansätze nachweisen lassen. Wir bezeichnen diese grundsätzlichen Forschungsansätze als Entwicklungspfade. Wenn wir also im folgenden z.B. von dem US-Forschungspfad sprechen, so werden durchaus auch Beiträge nicht-amerikanischer Forscher einbezogen. US-Forschung bezeichnet hier lediglich die grundlegende konzeptionelle Forschungsarbeit, die dann in der Regel durch andere internationale Forschergruppen, z.B. die sogenannte nordische Schule, französische (vgl. zu einer Bestandsaufnahme der Investitionsgütermarketing-Forschung in Frankreich Tallaron 1996) oder andere Beiträge — auch deutsche Beiträge —, ergänzt wurde. Das gilt gleichermaßen für die beiden anderen Forschungspfade der IMP-Group und der Engelhardt-Schule. Der Beitrag zeichnet die Entwicklung der verschiedenen Forschungspfade nach und stellt ihre Ergebnisse in Relation zueinander. Es wird dabei deutlich, daß sich nach anfänglich sehr unterschiedlichen konzeptionellen Ansätzen in den letzten Jahren eine Annäherung abzeichnet, die Anlaß zu der Vermutung gibt, daß sich die verschiedenen Pfade des Investitionsgütermarketings möglicherweise wieder in einen allgemeinen Ansatz integrieren lassen. Die verschiedenen Entwicklungspfade werden in ihren zentralen Entwicklungen im folgenden vorgestellt und kritisch zueinander in Beziehung gesetzt.
