Zur Biografie der Lebensverlaufsforschung: ein Rückblick auf die letzten zwei Jahrzehnte

Zusammenfassung

In diesem Beitrag möchte ich auf rund zwanzig Jahre sozialwissenschaftlicher Lebensverlaufsforschung zurückblicken und der Frage nachgehen, inwieweit sich die ursprünglich in diese neue Forschungsrichtung gesetzten Erwartungen erfüllt haben. Zunächst möchte ich kurz auf die dreifache Eingrenzung eingehen, unter der das Thema hier behandelt werden soll:

  • Warum ist es sinnvoll, sich auf die letzten 20 Jahre zu konzentrieren?

  • Um welche Art von Längsschnittstudien geht es in diesem Rückblick?

  • Auf welches Material stützen sich meine Bewertungen und Schlussfolgerungen?
