Abstract
A Problem solving environment for Algorithms in Numerical mathematics PAN is being developed in cooperation with NAG Ltd., Oxford, and with financial support from the EC program COMETT II. PAN is an open system running on UNIX machines under the X Window System with the possibility of individual user design. It provides an integrated graphical user interface for the development and management of programs and data. Parts of the system are the hypertext system HyTEX, a tutorial on numerical mathematics and about 30 elaborated Fortran programs using NAG libraries which are able to solve all basic numerical problems.
