Zusammenfassung
Dieser Beitrag ist ein Plädoyer für eine Neuorientierung in der Textverständlichkeitsforschung. Es wird gezeigt, dass eine vollständige Theorie der Textverständlichkeit neben Text- und Rezipientenmerkmalen auch den Produzenten und dessen Intentionen systematisch berücksichtigen muss. Dies gilt insbesondere dann, wenn im Sinne einer anwendungsorientierten Linguistik Kriterien für die Textoptimierung entwickelt werden sollen. In diesem Zusammenhang erscheint es sinnvoll, eine weiter gefasste Konzeption der Intentionsadäquatheit zu entwickeln, die die reine Verständlichkeit subsumiert und dem Aushandlungscharakter der Kommunikation besser als bisherige Theorien der Textverständlichkeit gerecht wird.
