Qualitätssicherung am Beispiel der Betriebssystementwicklung VSE/ESA

Zusammenfassung

Am Beispiel von VSE/ESA, eines der strategischen Betriebssysteme von IBM, wird gezeigt, wie sich ein effektives Qualitätsmanagement, ein guter Software Entwicklungsprozeß und ein Entwicklungsteam mit besonders hohem Qualitätsbewußtsein auf die Qualität der Entwicklung auswirken.

Die kontinuierlichen Prozeßverbesserungen in allen Phasen der Software Entwicklung führten dazu, daß die Fehlerrate von VSE seit 1989 um 94 % verbessert werden konnte.

Abstract

The example of VSE/ESA, one of IBM’s strategic operating systems, demonstrates how an effective quality management, an efficient development process, and a development team that is committed to producing superior quality are responsible for the high quality with which VSE/ESA is delivered.

The continuous improvements of the quality process during all phases of the development process are responsible for delivering a VSE/ESA that has improved its defect rate since 1989 by 94 %.
