Abstract

Corporate strategic planning may serve enterprises as an answer to the challenge made by an increasingly complex business environment. The general aspects of strategy development, such as strategic competence and strategic orientation, are the prerequisites for a strategic approach. Strategy is based on individual viewpoints that are closely connected to the acting/leading person. The main phases of creation and restriction that dominate the process of strategy-development and -specification have to be considered. The inclusion of holistic aspects risis the question of the relevant strategic space that has to be scanned. Under a comprehensive survey aspects of social and ecological compatibility become more pronounced vis-à-vis the otherwise dominating economic and technological approaches.
