Abstract
The main intentions of introducing a bundling strategy for a German machine tool manufacturer are to gain cost advantages and to keep close proximity to the firm’s customers. Methods used are the standardization of parts, the introduction of a modular product line, the bundling of modules and optimized pricing. Since implementing all these methods is a highly complex task, a model is devised that maps the necessary decisions, the Customized Machine Tool model.
