Abstract

The goal of this chapter is to analyze a scheduling process in terms of decision-making, and to classify what type of decision support is best suitable to assist a given type of scheduling problem. Although we primarily concentrate on airline scheduling, the discussion is valid also for many other applications of scheduling.
