Die Theorie sozialer Schließung

Zusammenfassung

Das zentrale Interesse der Schließungstheorien von Weber, Collins und Parkin ist auf Machtbeziehungen gerichtet, die in solche Exklusionscodes eingelassen sind, durch die Gesellschaften reguliert werden. In diesem viel versprechender Ansatz können Analysen von Herrschaftsstrategien, die auf dem Privateigentum an Produktionsmitteln, auf Bildungszertifikaten oder Abstammung, auf der Differenzierung von Gemeinschaften in rassische, ethnische und religiöse Gruppen sowie Sprachgruppen, auf dem Geschlechterverhältnis oder der Herrschaft der Kommunistischen Partei beruhen, mit den je entsprechenden Formen kollektiver Gegenwehr verbunden werden. Die zentrale Schwäche dieser Theorien besteht jedoch darin, dass sie die strukturellen Beziehungen zwischen unterschiedlichen Sets von Schließungsregeln vernachlässigen. Es wird deshalb ein konzeptioneller und methodologischer Rahmen entwickelt, innerhalb dessen die Schließungstheorie ihr Potenzial erst voll entfalten kann. In den Mittelpunkt des Interesses rückt die Analyse solcher Beziehungen, die die Tiefenstruktur von Herrschaft repräsentieren.
