Abstract
The Ruhr is the nucleus of the industrial production of Germany and of Western Europe; consequently — apart from the Russian Zone — it is here that the dismantling actions and their destructive effects are most severely felt. The situation hereafter described may be considered as having a general bearing on the German economy. The dismantling activities in the Ruhr district have an after-effect on both the other German and the European economy. On the other hand, such dismantlings as intended or already completed outside of the Ruhr district will advance and intensify the bad effects within the Ruhr valley.
