Abstract
DODCI (3,3′-diethyldicarbocyanine iodide), a widely used mode-locking dye, was taken as an example to study the influence of concentration, chopper frequency and light intensity onto the photoacoustic spectra of this compound in various solvent matrices. Due to a photoinduced isomerisation reaction reversible changes are detected in the photoacoustic spectra which can be used to gather information on this process.
