In Vitro Effects of Estrogen on Cyclic Nucleotides in the Arterial Wall

  • Chapter

Abstract

Cyclic adenosine 3′, 5′-monophosphate (cAMP) has been highlighted as an intracellular second messenger for various hormones and amines (Sutherland, 1971). The role played by cAMP in pathophysiological conditions has been intensively studied (Murad, 1973; Ryan and Heidrick, 1974).
