Abstract

The essence of really efficient heating and ventilating installations lies fundamentally in a properly thought out design, although the careful choice of the most suitable materials for each particular system and a high standard of workmanship do have some effect on the overall success of any scheme. The design is governed, to a large extent, by a number of closely associated factors. These are the required inside air temperatures, known as design temperatures, the heat losses and the desired frequency of air changes for each room or area of a building to be served.
