Abstract

There are literally hundreds of enforceable regulations in being for the safety of site personnel and the general public, and also to safeguard property. In spite of considerable efforts to enforce safety measures, which are generally well publicised and displayed on sites, the injury and death rate, not to mention damage by fire etc., is still far too high. Safety precautions are basically common sense and a little consideration for others. Conforming to simple precautions not only preserves life and limb, but saves time and unnecessary expense in the long run. A site administration conscious of safety usually produces an efficient and tidy site, on which everybody knows where everything is located and dangerous hazards are reduced to a minimum, if not eliminated.
