Zusammenfassung

In den vorhergehenden Abschnitten wurde gezeigt, daß keines der sogenannten traditionellen Indizierungssysteme, zu denen die hierarchischen, Facetten- und alphabetischen Sachklassifikationen gehören, die Möglichkeit einer Recherche von Dokumenten bietet, wenn vorher nicht die zu berücksichtigenden Merkmale zusammengestellt werden. Aus diesem Grunde finden seit Beginn der fünfziger Jahre die Methode des koordinativen Indizierens von Dokumenten und die auf dieser Methode beruhenden Deskriptoren-IRSp immer größere Verbreitung.
