Abstract
The author was sent to Hong Kong and some other places in the Far East from August 1960 to January 1962 by the University of Cologne, Institute of Foreign Trade. After his university examination in law and five years studying the Chinese language Mr. Maeding spent six months in the German Federal Office for Information on Foreign Trade in order to prepare his research project.
