Zusammenfassung
Es wird gezeigt, daß die transformationelle Analyse herauswuchs aus den Untersuchungen von englischen Texten, die Harris Anfang der 50er Jahre an der University of Pennsylvania durchführte. Die Transformation war ursprünglich ein Instrument, das innerhalb der Textanalyse dazu diente, Sätze zu vereinfachen und aneinander anzugleichen, so daß eine weitere Anwendung der „discourse analysis method“ möglich wurde.
Diese Arbeit war ein Referat beim 5. Linguistischen Kolloquium veranstaltet an der Universität Regensburg vom 28.Sept.-2.Okt.70.
