Zusammenfassung
Erhitzt man ein Gas so hoch, daß die Teilchenenergie auf Grund der Wärmebewegung ausreicht, um Elektronen von den Atomen des Gases abzuspalten, so entsteht ein Gemisch aus positiv elektrisch geladenen Atomen, genannt Ionen, und negativ geladenen Elektronen. Dieses Gemisch aus einem Ionengas, einem Elektronengas und eventuell einem Neutralatomgas nennt man Plasma. Erhitzt man ein Gas ausreichend hoch, so daß alle Elektronen von den Atomen abgespalten werden, so erhält man ein vollionisiertes Plasma.
