Margarine oder Kunstbutter ist, wie ihr Name sagt, ein der Naturbutter hinsichtlich Zusammensetzung, Aussehen und Geschmack ähnlich gemachtes künstliches Erzeugnis aus Fetten und Ölen, sowohl tierischer wie pflanzlicher Herkunft, und Milch, wobei auch die Milch durch künstliche milchähnliche Gemische ersetzt werden kann.
