Zusammenfassung
Im ersten Teil dieser Arbeit haben wir die Kontrolle als eine der wichtigsten Managementaufgaben bezeichnet, sind jedoch dabei keineswegs bereit, die bisweilen geäußerte Meinung zu unterstützen, “‚control’ has become completely synonymous with ‚management’“389). Wir wollen als Ausgangspunkt der Betrachtung die Defiinition von Sherwin wählen, der das Wesentliche der Kontrolle wie folgt zusammenfaßt : “The essence of control is action which adjusts operations to predeterminded standards, and its basis is information in the hands of managers.“390) Sherwin sieht somit die Hauptfunktion der Kontrolle in dem Ergreifen von Maßnahmen mit dem Ziel, die tatsächliche Leistung an die vorgegebene anzupassen. Diese Handlung stellt eine Kontrollentscheidung dar, die nur auf Grund von Kontrollinformationen getroffen werden kann.
