Zusammenfassung
Die meisten Insekten führen aktive Ortsbewegungen aus, sei es im Fluge, am Boden oder im Wasser. Dieser Standortwechsel beschränkt sich entweder auf das Populationsterritorium, oder aber er führt aus diesem heraus. Im ersten Fall haben wir es normalerweise mit Ortsbewegungen zu tun, die unmittelbar mit dem Nahrungserwerb, der Paarung oder dem Aufsuchen eines Eiablagebiotops zusammenhängen. Im zweiten Fall jedoch liegt eine Verhaltensweise vor, die unter dem Begriff Wanderung zusammengefaßt wird. Wanderungen sind somit alle diejenigen Ortsbewegungen, die über den territorialen Lebensraum einer Art hinausgehen. Wir beschränken uns im folgenden auf die Migrationsbewegungen der fliegenden Insekten.
