Zusammenfassung
Wenn wir den Begriff der „Tierstraßen“ als bestimmte, seit Generationen festgelegte Wege definieren, auf denen sich regelmäßig wiederholte, zielgerichtete Wanderungen von Tieren über größere Entfernungen hinweg abspielen, so werden wir innerhalb der Klasse der Reptilien nicht allzu viele Beispiele für derartige Erscheinungen anführen können. Soweit wir überhaupt etwas über die Lebensweise der Kriechtiere in der freien Natur wissen, scheinen die weitaus meisten Arten ein recht ortsgebundenes Leben auf einem Territorium zu führen, innerhalb dessen sie wohl längere oder kürzere Streifzüge unternehmen, aber doch immer wieder zu ihren eigentlichen Ruheplätzen zurückkehren. In der Regel sind ja zumindest die landbewohnenden Reptilien schon infolge ihrer Abhängigkeit von den klimatischen Gegebenheiten ihrer engsten Umwelt rein physisch gar nicht in der Lage, weitere Entfernungen zu bewältigen, wenn sie nicht gerade durch besondere Umstände dazu gezwungen werden.
