Zusammenfassung
Viele Untersuchungen weisen darauf hin, daß oxidativ modifiziertes LDL bei der Atherogenese eine wichtige Rolle spielt [4, 5, 6]. So konnte es z. B. in Plasma und atherosklerotischer Gefäßwand nachgewiesen werden; durch seine hohe zelluläre Aufnahmerate scheint es bei der Schaumzellbildung beteiligt zu sein; außerdem könnte die beschriebene Zytotoxizität von LDL Endothelläsionen bzw. Nekrobiosen im Atherom verursachen.
