Zusammenfassung
Die Folgen einer krankhaften Veränderung von Koronar- oder Zerebralarterien bleiben nach wie vor die Hauptursache für Morbidität und Mortalität in Westeuropa und den USA. Thrombotische Prozesse in atherosklerotisch veränderten Gefäßen sind unzweifelhaft ein entscheidender Faktor der Genese von akutem Herzinfarkt oder Zerebralinfarkt. Die Thrombusbildung kann vermutlich in verschiedenen Stadien der Atherosklerose eintreten; bei dem Atherogenesemodell der »Response to Injury« ist sie bereits an den initialen Vorgängen beteiligt [4, 7]. Die Verletzung der endothelialen Schutzschicht der Gefäßwand bietet einen ständigen Anlaß für die Aktivierung der Blutplättchen und der Gerinnungskaskade, die einen sogenannten »präthrombotischen Zustand« bedingen und in der Folge den Totalverschluß des Gefäßes verursachen kann.
