Abstract
The programm of the DRECAN-Study includes the measurement of Lp(a) serum concentration by rocket electrophoresis. 2 953 results between 0 and 2 816 mg/I were obtained. Of these 82.4 % remained below 250 mg/I. The median, minimum and maximum in the female subgroup did not differ from those of men or of the whole population. In females over 40 years of age the Lp(a) serum concentration correlated with age.
Isolated mild hypertriglyceridemia is associated with low levels of Lp(a), whereas in pronounced hypercholesterolemia the percentage of elevated Lp(a) concentrations is high
Zusammenfassung
Lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) wurde bei 2 953 Teilnehmern der DRECAN-Studie mittels Rocket-Elektrophorese bestimmt. Die Meßwerte variieren zwischen 0 und 2 816 mg/I, der Median liegt bei 31 mg/I. 82,4% der Meßwerte sind kleiner als 250 mg/I. Median, Minimum und Maximum der Frauen unterscheiden sich weder von denen der Männer noch von denen der Gesamtstichprobe. Bei Frauen korreliert die Lp(a)-Konzentration jenseits des 40. Lebensjahres mit dem Lebensalter. Reine, milde Hypertriglyzeridämien sind mit niedrigen Lp(a)-Spiegeln assoziiert, während ausgeprägte Hypercholesterinämien mit einem hohen Anteil erhöhter Lp(a)-Werte einhergehen.
