Zusammenfassung

Wenn Blutgefäße verletzt werden und bluten, kommt es zur Adhäsion von zirkulierenden Blutplättchen an die geschädigte Gefäßwand und zur Aggregation und damit zu einer Verminderung oder einem Stillstand der Blutung. Diese Interaktion zwischen Blutplättchen und Gefäßwand ist eine leicht demonstrierbare physiologische Funktion von Blutplättchen. Es gibt zahlreiche klinische und experimentelle Hinweise, daß eine verminderte Thrombozytenzahl oder eine Thrombozytenfunktionsstörung zum Auftreten spontaner Blutungen aus kleinen Blutgefäßen führt. Dieses läßt vermuten, daß Blutplättchen eine essentielle Bedeutung für die funktionelle Integrität von diesen Blutgefäßen haben, jedoch ist ein solcher Mechanismus bisher nicht hinreichend bewiesen.
