Zusammenfassung
Aufgrund ihrer langfristigen Auswirkungen auf den Unternehmenserfolg, der Knappheit des Kapitals und der durch sie verursachten Fixkosten gehören betriebliche Investitionen „zu den wichtigsten unter den zahllosen Entscheidungen, die die Unternehmensleitung treffen muss“ (Terborgh 1962, S. 5; vgl. auch Kloock 1989, Sp. 789; Meise 1998, S. 1). Neben der direkten Bedeutung für das individuelle Unternehmen stellen Investitionsentscheidungen jedoch auch einen entscheidenden Faktor für das Wachstum und den Wohlstand einer Volkswirtschaft dar (vgl. Carter/Williams 1958, S. VII; Lilleyman 1984, S. 130; Seppelfricke 1996, S. 1).
