Zusammenfassung
Dieser Beitrag untersucht, wie der Präsident des westafrikanischen Staates Mali, Alpha Konaré, in öffentlichen Auftritten seinen Führungsanspruch legitimiert, welche Bilder von legitimer Macht er dabei entwirft und welche Rolle diese Bilder in der durch elektronische Medien hergestellten Öffentlichkeit spielen. Meine Ausführungen konzentrieren sich auf den Teilbereich öffentlicher Kommunikation, der im urbanen Mali durch das staatliche Fernsehen hergestellt wird und an dem vor allem Vertreter der städtischen Mittelklasse, aber auch Vertreter von niederen Einkommensschichten teilhaben.1
