Zusammenfassung

Nach Auftragen einer vier- bis fünfprozentigen Essiglösung auf die Zervix können Farbveränderungen sowie Gefäßphänomene sichtbar gemacht werden, welche unter anderem als Punktierung oder Mosaik bezeichnet werden. Beim Erlernen der Kolposkopie müssen die Kriterien für leichtgradige und höhergradige präinvasive Veränderungen eingeübt werden und insbesondere deren Abgrenzung von invasionsverdächtigen Prozessen. Darüber hinaus wird in diesem Kapitel auf die Beziehung zwischen präkanzerösen und invasiven Prozessen der Zervix und dem humanen Papillomavirus (HPV) eingegangen.
