Manche Erkrankungen der Vulva lassen sich bereits mit bloßem Auge diagnostizieren. Eine systematische Untersuchung der Vulva mithilfe des Kolposkops verbessert möglicherweise die Sensitivität und Spezifität der Vulvadiagnostik.
