Zusammenfassung
Spannender und kognitiv aktivierender Unterricht sollte Jugendlichen die Möglichkeit geben, sich selbsttätig mit einem für sie interessanten Unterrichtsgegenstand zu beschäftigen und dabei ihre bestehenden Wissensstrukturen zu erweitern, z. B. in der Form von gut durchdachten Schülerexperimenten. Die Komplexität der Teilchenphysik erschwert dieses Vorhaben allerdings, da das benötigte Equipment für Schulen oft zu teuer und schwer zugänglich ist. Aus ähnlichen Gründen wurden in den letzten Jahren in verschiedenen Gebieten moderner Wissenschaft zahlreiche Schülerlabore zur Wissenschaftskommunikation geschaffen, die mittels ihrer Spezialisierung und moderner Ausstattung Experimentiergelegenheiten schaffen, um Jugendlichen einen Einblick in die aktuelle Forschung zu geben.
