Zusammenfassung
Exkursionen bieten Studierenden einen vielfachen Nutzen. Ein wesentlicher Aspekt dabei ist die Steigerung des Lernerfolgs, die durch verschiedene Faktoren erreicht werden kann. Dazu zählen – wie hier basierend auf einer Metastudie zu lernerfolgsfördernden Variablen erläutert wird – die verstärkte soziale Interaktion, die ständige Verfügbarkeit der Lehrpersonen, die Anregung zu sinnstiftendem Lernen und die gute Verständlichkeit der Erläuterungen. Zusätzlich entwickeln Studierende gerade bei Exkursionen eine fachliche Identität, die sie auf den Diskurs mit anderen Disziplinen genauso vorbereitet wie auf den Eintritt ins Arbeitsleben. Oft entwickelt sich darüber hinaus auf Exkursionen der Wechsel von einer Konsumhaltung zum engagierten Lernen und Anwenden. Darüber hinaus können Exkursionen die außerfachliche Bildung sowie die Bindung an die jeweilige Hochschule stärken.
