Zusammenfassung
Während das vorangegangene Kapitel 3 als das der klassischen Echtzeitplanung bezeichnet werden kann, das unabhängige Prozesse nach bewährten Strategien auf Einprozessorsystemen einplant, gehen die Anforderungen von Echtzeitanwendungen seit Längerem darüber hinaus. Fortgeschrittene Planungsverfahren berücksichtigen drei Anforderungen. Zunächst betrifft dies die Abhängigkeiten zwischen Prozessen, die programmiertechnisch mittels Synchronisierungsoperationen ausgedrückt werden und in der Echtzeitplanung zu berücksichtigen sind (siehe Abschn. 4.1). Des Weiteren sind allenthalben Mehrprozessorsysteme, besonders Mehrkernprozessoren, im Einsatz, die erweiterte oder auch neuartige Planungsverfahren erfordern (siehe Abschn. 4.2). Schließlich erstrecken sich Echtzeitanwendungen über verschiedene Örtlichkeiten, die von drahtgebundener oder drahtloser Kommunikation überdeckt werden. Für solchermaßen verteilte Systeme stehen, angepasst an die verwendeten Kommunikationsprotokolle, entsprechende Planungsverfahren bereit (siehe Abschn. 4.3). Übergreifend bleibt jedoch festzuhalten, dass die klassischen Konzepte und Methoden an vielen Stellen die fortgeschrittenen Planungsverfahren prägen.
