Abstract
We describe some of the aspects of “leading myself” that are important to us. They are the basis for leading others. Effective self-leadership is based on knowledge of one’s values, strengths and individual way of learning.
We present a tool, the “leadership model”, to develop excellence in leadership. The leadership model supports the discussions about leadership in an organization. It fosters the formulation of common expectations, the definition of procedures and the prioritization of tasks.
