Zusammenfassung
Die Speicherung der elektrischen Energie im Fahrzeug und ihre bedarfsabhängige Verfügbarkeit gehören neben den elektrischen Maschinen und der Leistungselektronik zu den Schlüsseltechnologien für die Elektrifizierung des Antriebstranges. Über Jahrzehnte wurden Alternativen zur konventionellen Bleibatterie mit einem Fokus zunächst auf Nickel-Cadmium und dann Nickel-Metall-Hydrid Batterie entwickelt. Die Lithium-Ionen-Batterietechnik ist heute die Basis für die meisten modernen Konzepte zur Elektrifizierung des Antriebsstrangs von Fahrzeugen aller Art. Aufgrund ihrer hohen Energie - und Leistungsdichte sowie ihrer hohen Zellspannung ist sie aktuell quasi die einzige Technologieklasse von Bedeutung. Alternativ zur Speicherung der elektrischen Energie in Batterien steht hierfür auch die Kondensatortechnologie zur Verfügung. Die Batteriesystemtechnik ist die Schnittstelle zwischen den Batteriezellen und dem Fahrzeug. Eine zuverlässige und leistungsfähige Batteriezelle ist eine notwendige jedoch nicht hinreichende Bedingung für ein sicheres und langlebiges Batteriesystem. Dazu gehören mechanische und thermische Anforderungen, elektrische Interaktionen mit dem Antriebsstrang sowie Kommunikationskonzepte und die funktionale Absicherung.
